Hello
I would like help automating the following:
System 2 – I.L 8.0 >
1. So I use software to download a spreadsheet with all the race meetings and all the horses in each race meeting for the day along with other data. The first thing I need help with is automatically sorting the spreadsheet. Here is what it looks like:
a) Firstly I only want it to only show races where either all or all bar one horses have a number showing I column E. So in the screenshot above, both of these races wouldn’t qualify and therefore need deleting. Is there a quicker way of doing this other than manually?
b) I want columns E to J to be added up and the average number to be input into column K
2. Once the data is in order, at this point I would usually wait to a few minutes before the off (of the selected race) and I would have a look at which horses are at odds of 8.0 >
I would only consider the race if there are at least three horses with odds of 8.0 > and I would leave the race if the if it didn’t fit this criteria.
Example qualifier:
So this above screenshot meets he first criteria of all / all but one having an ability rating in column E
Then you can see from the BSP that three horse had odds of 8.0 > so this would be a qualifying race.
3. Once I have a qualifying race I just look at the qualifying selections. So in this example I’d have narrowed down the 14:45 race on my spreadsheet from 11 runners to just three – Zodiakos, Bombastic and Ghathafar.
What I would then do is highlight the worst rated horse in each column in E to K, just like below:
The selection with the most highlighted cells is the lay selection, so long as it has at least two or more highlighted cells than the next worst rated. In this case it is Zodiakos.
If the horse with the most highlighted cells has just one more highlighted cell, or the same amount of highlighted cells, then we go on to highlight columns L to R BUT only for the two going head to head.
For example if the results looked like this:
Then I would remove Ghathanfar from the running and continue to compare Bombastic and Zodiakos in columns L to R, just lie this:
So in this example Bombastic would be the selection.
4. Once I have the selection, so long as it remains a odds 8.0> and so long as there are still atleast two other horses in the race at 8.0> then I would lay the selection to 4% liability of a set bank and I would ratchet up the liabilities (i.e If start bank is £100 then the liability would be £4. If it dropped to £80 then the liability would still remain £4. If the balance went up to £120 then it would be £4.80. Then if it dropped back down to £100 then the liabilities would still remain at £4.80 until the balance surpasses £120 – if that makes sense?)
So basically I would like to be able to set this up in a morning and leave it to automate throughout the day or at worst at least make the selection process quicker and more efficient. Is this something that you could help with?
Many thanks,
Nathan
