Hi All,
Finally go the new version to work after downloading Windows 10 so thats good.
I question is that my basic set up in the old version was to back a horse 1st Fav between $2.50 -$3.00\
Nothing i do in the new one makes this work or take a bet.
Any help would be great. I tried to send a pic of setup but cant seem to do that either.
Advise pls ......yes I have read everything i can on this forum and web page

Hi, the strategy below should do what you need. Let me know if this is what you asked for. Your question and my reply have been moved to this new thread because I think they can be useful to other users. This strategy, 30 seconds at the start of every race, back the favorite if it has a price between 2.5 and 3. The capital is 5 euro, and the bet size is always 0.25. Maximum 3 markets with open bet at the same time.  |
- Maximum amount of money the strategy can lose.
- Maximum 3 markets with open bets at the same time. Only one bet every market
- Bets are placed only on the WIN market of horse races.
- Bets are placed in the timeframe that goes from 30 seconds at the start to two minutes after the programmed start of the race (the race has no more delay than 2 minutes). Only if the market is not in-play (Pre).
- The market prices must be fair enough (for example no bets are placed immediately after horse retirement).
- The price range where betting is allowed.
- This is the core triggering condition of the strategy. @id_horse contains the id of the horse checked at that moment, @id_favourite_1 contains the id of the favorite horse of the race checked at that moment. When the two variables match, the bet is placed.
- The bets are of type BACK. The best BACK price at that moment is used.
- Bets have a fixed size: 0.25 in your currency.
- If the bet remains unmatched during the placement (the price moved in the meanwhile), every second update the price to the new best BACK price.

You have to change points 6 and 8. This should be quite easy now that you have the strategy above to copy from. Try to do yourself, if you meet difficulties I will help you.

@id_horse = @id_favourite_1 does it matter if this is in the runner filters or the trigger conditions
& if i put it in trigger like u said is this correct @capital < (@initial_capital*1.2) and @id_horse = @id_favourite_1

Yes, your SQL assertion is correct.
All the conditions of the strategy (runner filters, market filters, etc..) are compiled in a single SQL expression. You can see this expression with a right-click on the runner name -> Expression Watcher

From this link, you can download the strategy of the picture above. Unzip the file to the desktop, then right-click the Ipposnif strategies window -> Add From File www.ipposnif.com/download/strategies/Back_Favourite.zipI have tested it for a while yesterday and worked well. Of course, it doesn't bet every race but only the ones that satisfy all the conditions. Let me know if it works like expected also for you. Cheers |

There is something strange with this 3.0 version. I have similar experiences.
If I take some ready made strategy and make some small changes to odds, timing etc, it´ll work, but if I make strategy of my own from scratch, they never make a single bet. Or they might make a bet, but they ignore the SQL assertion and select wrong horse/dog.
I had a working strategy that made bets for horses and greyhounds. I wanted to separate those, so I cloned it and left the other one for horses and other one for dogs. Result is that clone never makes a single bet and the original still bets both horses and dogs!?
I installed whole Ipposnif again, renamed the database, deleted Ipposnif3 directory so that it was clean install. Result is that the strategy behaves the same, but one strategy, which was working before re-install stopped making bets. It was saved to file before re-install and then added again from the same file.

I tested the program on different computers and I didn't have this kind of issue, but I believe you and I would like to investigate it.
Have you tried to use the expression watcher?
If expression watcher gives you all green "lights" but the bet is not placed, there is a serious issue with the program.
So please make this test for me: follow a strategy and when it should place a bet, open the expression watcher (right-click on the horse name -> expression watcher), and watch the status (red/green) of the criteria.
If one of them is red, check if the related expression is really false. If it is really false, so the strategy should not place the bet.

if would like to investigate also the problem that you are facing, if what you say is true there is an issue that I have to fix as soon as possible:
right-click on a horse name, select Expression watcher, and select the strategy (betting on AU markets) that you are using.
In the "Bet 1 Place Condition" you should find (together with the other conditions) something like:
... and (',AU,' like CONCAT('%,',@country_code,',%')) ...
Can you confirm this, and can you confirm that despite the presence of this condition the bet is placed on markets different from AU?

Yes this is exaclty as per strg that oly has au ticked
.....and (',Greyhound Racing,Horse Racing,'like CONCAT('%,',@event_type,',%'))and(',WIN,'like CONCAT('%,',@market_type,',%,))and(',AU,'lke CONCAT('%,',country_code,',%')) and.........
and i tried the one you sent me yesterday unziped copied etc and put it on horse and greyhounds and let it run all night and not one bet.......thing is not correct my end.
I also did reinstall program also.
If you could email me and i can send pic of all of this might be better if that suits

Hi, Yes, I have checked the expression watcher and even when all criterias are met, the watcher gives red light for the place condition. I also noticed following:
I set the max reset to 10 and condition: dbo.fn_strategyproperty(@id_strategy,'today_profit')<-50 and the reset counter keeps rising every 15 seconds even when no bets are placed. If I try to remove reset condition and set reset back to zero, I get the field validation error, "Reset condition is useless, if Max reset is not specified or equals to zero". I set the max reset to 5 with no condition, and now strategy window shows reset counter 34/5, like the strategy has exceeded max reset by 29

Yes, the red light means that all the criterias set to the strategy are not met, so Ipposnif won’t make a bet.

esyarra to be extremely sure, I have just created a completely new Windows machine, installed the latest Ipposnif release on it, and imported the exact strategy you can download from the link above. It is placing bets as expected.  I wrote you an email so you can reply with screenshots. I also removed your email from your post for privacy and security reasons.

timosar you cannot use the "Today profit" as a reset condition because it contains also the results of previous rounds. So once it becomes true, it will remain always true all day and it starts resetting the strategy every 15 sec. If you need to reset a strategy when it has lost more than a certain amount use @capital So for example, if you have 100 as capital and you want to reset the strategy when it has lost more than 20 use @capital<80Basically, in the Reset Condition, you can use only assertions that become false after the reset. In the example above, after the reset, the capital restarts from 100 and the condition is false (until another 20 are lost). I hope this helps

I just threw in something, because I couldn’t leave it empty either. Anyhow, I think there is something with the reset. This morning I had working strategy which reached -14€ today. It had by default the -10€ daily loss limit, which I had removed, but it still stopped laying bets and only hard reset returned functionality. Or is there something that prevents saving changes. -loss limit still present, even when removed -added sql assertion, but it’s ignored. -removed greyhounds from strategy, but it still keeps betting them. Can the strategy code be found somewhere in the db, like the xml code in 2.4. All I have found is the pieces here and there |

Daily stop loss works only after it has been overcame. So if you have -10 as stop loss, and the strategy has lost only 9 till now, it can still place a bet of 5 (or whatever size).
Only the Capital can be never overcome, so if the strategy has 10 as capital and it has lost 9, it cannot bet more than 1.
"removed greyhounds from strategy..", this is really strange, is it possible that they come from other active strategies?
To get the XML, right-click the strategy name (in the strategies window) -> Save To File
If you want you can send me the content of this file with a personal message, and I will test it.
